FilmSharks, a prominent sales agent from Buenos Aires, has successfully secured the international distribution rights for "All That We Never Were," the cinematic rendition of Spanish author Alice Kellen's acclaimed romantic novel. This eagerly anticipated production, a collaborative effort among several entities including Warner Bros. Pictures Spain and HBO Max, is poised to captivate global audiences. The film not only brings a beloved literary work to the screen but also marks another significant partnership for FilmSharks, building on past successes in the international film market. Its narrative delves into themes of love, loss, and resilience, aiming for a broad appeal.

FilmSharks Acquires Global Rights for 'All That We Never Were,' Slated for June Release in Spain

In a recent development announced on February 13, 2026, FilmSharks, the Buenos Aires-based film sales company, officially obtained the international sales rights for "All That We Never Were" ("Todo lo que nunca fuimos"). This romantic drama is a film adaptation of the celebrated novel by Spanish author Alice Kellen. The movie, helmed by director Jorge Alonso, features a talented cast including Maxi Iglesias, Margarida Corceiro, and Sebastián Zurita. The central narrative revolves around Leah, portrayed by Corceiro, a young artist striving to overcome the profound grief following her parents' tragic accident. Production spanned picturesque locations across Spain, including the vibrant cities of San Sebastián and Madrid, as well as the scenic towns of Zumaia and Zarauz.

The film is a joint production by Versus Entertainment, Lyo Media, and Bixagu Entertainment, with additional co-production support from Elephantec Global and CRE84U. Notably, HBO Max is participating in the project, and Warner Bros. Pictures Spain is set to distribute the film theatrically in Spain, with a premiere scheduled for June. This collaboration follows a successful precedent between FilmSharks and Warner Bros., notably with the globally distributed film "Pídeme lo que quieras." Guido Rud, the founder of FilmSharks, expressed optimism for "All That We Never Were," highlighting its potential to resonate with audiences worldwide due to its blend of romance and emotional depth, a genre he believes consistently performs well internationally. Kellen's novel is the inaugural part of her "Let it Be" duology, known for its exploration of universal themes such as love and friendship.

Furthermore, FilmSharks recently concluded deals for another project, "Torment" ("Tormento"), a horror-thriller set in a morgue, directed by Olallo Rubio. Entermode of South Korea secured the theatrical rights, while Capelight obtained all rights for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the U.K. Discussions are also underway for a U.S. remake of "Morgue," with Blue Lantern in Vietnam already acquiring remake options.

A Cinematic Glimpse into Universal Narratives of Love and Resilience

The acquisition of "All That We Never Were" by FilmSharks highlights the enduring appeal of romantic dramas and the growing international demand for compelling storytelling. This venture underscores the power of literature to transcend mediums, bringing beloved narratives to a global cinematic audience. It also exemplifies the collaborative spirit within the film industry, where diverse production companies and distributors unite to bring artistic visions to fruition. The success of such adaptations not only celebrates literary achievements but also fosters cultural exchange through the universal language of film, reminding us that stories of love, loss, and the human spirit resonate across all borders.
