Mendler had previously stepped away from entertainment to pursue higher education and co-found Northwood Space, an aerospace startup, where she serves as CEO. Disney Alum Bridgit Mendler's Unexpected Musical Comeback with "Once Again..." EP

On the vibrant morning of Friday, June 10, 2026, the entertainment world was pleasantly surprised by the unannounced return of former Disney Channel luminary, Bridgit Mendler, to the music landscape. Mendler, a cherished figure from beloved series like "Good Luck Charlie" and "Wizards of Waverly Place," unveiled a brand-new extended play, aptly titled "Once Again...." This collection features six fresh compositions: "Flowers," "Cold," "Mercy," "Long Run," "Loyalties," and "Oxygen." The release was notably understated, with no preceding promotional fanfare across her social media channels, her last Instagram update dating back to 2022. This marks Mendler's first significant musical offering since her 2017 single "Driving," and her first multi-track project since her 2012 album, "Hello My Name Is…," which spawned fan favorites such as "Ready or Not" and "Hurricane."

Mendler's journey beyond the realm of acting and music has been one of remarkable academic and entrepreneurial achievement. After the conclusion of "Good Luck Charlie" in 2014, she gradually transitioned away from the entertainment spotlight to dedicate herself to higher education. Her impressive academic portfolio includes an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California, a Master's from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School. While she commenced a PhD program at MIT in 2020, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found Northwood Space in 2023 with her husband, Griffin Cleverly, and engineer Shaurya Luthra. As CEO of this California-based aerospace startup, Mendler has been focused on developing infrastructure for satellite communication. Her unexpected return to music now adds another fascinating chapter to her diverse and accomplished career, showcasing a multifaceted talent that continues to evolve and inspire.

Bridgit Mendler's decision to release new music without any prior announcement is a refreshing testament to artistic integrity and passion. In an era dominated by elaborate marketing campaigns, her understated approach allows the music itself to speak volumes, inviting listeners to discover her latest work organically. This comeback not only rekindles the nostalgia for her loyal fanbase but also introduces her versatile artistry to a new generation, proving that true talent transcends industries and timelines. It's inspiring to see an artist seamlessly navigate between the demanding worlds of entertainment, academia, and cutting-edge technology, demonstrating that a commitment to personal growth and diverse interests can lead to extraordinary achievements in various fields.
