Securing lithium in Subnautica 2 presents a greater challenge compared to more common resources such as titanium, lead, or gold. Initially, this scarce mineral primarily appears in a single treacherous area within the game's early stages. Fortunately, only a small quantity is needed for initial crafting endeavors.

Collecting lithium requires venturing into a perilous zone, essentially retrieving it from a colossal, toothy orifice before it clamps shut—a truly daunting prospect. To brave this immense maw, specific preparations are essential. You must first acquire the Sonic Resonator and the Standard Air Tank. It is also advisable to bring additional Air Bladders for emergency oxygen, along with Basic Fins and the Wakemaker mobility gadget for rapid movement. To reach this location, journey southwest from your Lifepod, descending past the ocean floor's drop-off while following the crater wall on your right. You will encounter the remains of a colony and a dilapidated building ahead. Near this structure, on a table, you'll discover your initial piece of lithium, which conveniently respawns over time. Remember to explore the building for the High Capacity Dive Tank blueprint. Continue southeast to "The Great Jaw," a gigantic pod-like formation with a tonsil-like core adorned with purple filaments. Replenish your oxygen at the surrounding Oxygen Tunics, as air supply diminishes rapidly inside the jaw.

The lithium you seek is embedded within the tonsil structure, requiring the Sonic Resonator for extraction. However, the moment you disturb the purple filaments, the jaw will begin to close, attempting to trap you. This necessitates quickly breaking off the lithium, grabbing it, and making a swift escape. Utilizing the dash ability from the Biomod terminal in the Welcome Center ruins, located south of the Life Pod, can be crucial. Later in the game, once the Heat Tolerance adaptation is unlocked, you can access volcanic vent zones and discover abundant lithium in the hot caves beneath the Tadpole Pens, eliminating the need for further visits to the jaw. Lithium is primarily used for creating Plasteel Ingots in the Processor, with only one ingot needed to upgrade your diving tank, making the initial perilous journey well worth the effort for vital early-game progression.

Navigating the perilous depths of Subnautica 2 to acquire essential resources like lithium embodies the spirit of perseverance and strategic planning. Each challenging expedition, fraught with potential dangers, reinforces the importance of preparedness and adaptability. Overcoming these obstacles not only enhances your in-game capabilities but also instills a sense of achievement, demonstrating that with courage and ingenuity, even the most daunting tasks can be accomplished, leading to growth and success in any endeavor.
