While switching production studios between seasons is not uncommon in the anime industry, consistency is often preferred. However, series like Vinland Saga and Attack on Titan have demonstrated that quality can be maintained despite such changes. In KonoSuba's case, the shift to ENGI is likely due to its ownership by Kadokawa, the series' IP holder, as Kadokawa seeks to manage more of its intellectual properties in-house. Although ENGI is a relatively new studio, KonoSuba represents its most significant project to date. Fortunately, Takaomi Kanasaki, the director of the first season, will return for Season 4, offering a reassuring presence for fans. Kanasaki's past work includes the critically acclaimed anime Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust.
