My Hero Academia Final Season Crowned Anime of the Year at Crunchyroll Awards

The 10th Crunchyroll Anime Awards recently honored the excellence in the anime world, with the highly acclaimed "My Hero Academia Final Season" securing the top honor of Anime of the Year. The grand event, held in Tokyo, was co-hosted for the fourth consecutive year by voice actress Sally Amaki and entertainer Jon Kabira, featuring notable guest presenters including The Weeknd, who announced the main award.

The ceremony was not only a showcase for award-winning anime but also a platform for captivating musical performances, including an opening by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, arranged by Kazunori Miyake and conducted by Hirofumi Kurita. Renowned artists such as Dean Fujioka and Yoko Takahashi also graced the stage. Additionally, director Tatsuya Nagamine received the Global Impact Award, recognizing his extensive contributions to animation through beloved series like “Dragon Ball Super” and “One Piece.”

The event celebrated a diverse array of categories, with “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” winning Film of the Year, “Lazarus” named Best Original Anime, and “One Piece” recognized as Best Continuing Series. Other notable winners included “Gachiakuta” for Best New Series and multiple accolades for “The Apothecary Diaries (Season 2)” and “Solo Leveling Season 2 – Arise from the Shadow.” The awards underscored the global enthusiasm for anime, with a record-breaking 73 million votes cast worldwide, primarily from Brazil, Germany, India, Mexico, and the United States.

The Crunchyroll Anime Awards serve as a powerful testament to the universal appeal and profound impact of animated storytelling. By celebrating creativity and artistic achievement, these awards not only acknowledge the hard work of creators but also inspire future generations to explore and contribute to this dynamic art form. The event fosters a sense of community among fans globally, promoting cultural exchange and highlighting the positive messages of heroism, perseverance, and friendship often found within anime.
