Revry Renews 'King of Drag' for a Second Season

The acclaimed reality competition, "King of Drag," has officially received a second-season renewal from Revry, the prominent LGBTQ+ streaming platform. This renewal comes on the heels of a highly successful debut season, which captivated audiences and garnered substantial viewership and widespread social media traction. Preparations are already underway for the next installment, with casting applications actively being accepted.

The first season of "King of Drag" marked a significant milestone, achieving over 32 million views since its launch. This impressive viewership was complemented by more than 30 million social media impressions and an astounding 3.8 billion press impressions, underscoring the show's massive cultural impact and popularity within its target demographic and beyond. The series' success was further solidified by receiving two nominations for the prestigious 2026 Queerty Awards, highlighting its artistic merit and contribution to LGBTQ+ representation in media.

Christopher J. Rodriguez, co-founder and chief creative officer of Revry, expressed his enthusiasm for the show's continuation, emphasizing that the overwhelming positive reception of the first season unequivocally signals the rising prominence of drag kings. He noted that the community has long sought a dedicated platform to showcase their unique artistry, and "King of Drag" has successfully fulfilled this need, being enthusiastically embraced by its audience. The inaugural season featured a dynamic array of talent, with Murray Hill, star of "Somebody Somewhere," serving as the host. A diverse panel of guest judges lent their expertise, including notable figures such as Tony Award winner Cole Escola, Lisa Rinna, director Paul Feig, Bridget Everett, Layshia Clarendon, Jeff Hiller, Landon Cider, Vico Ortiz, Liv Hewson, Mo B. Dick, Brian Michael Smith, Carmen Carrera, Jackie Beat, Aubrey Shea, Kathleen Hanna, Cameron Esposito, and Kylie Sonique Love. The regular judging panel comprised Sasha Velour, Gottmik, Tenderoni, Wang Newton, and Revry co-founder and CEO Damian Pelliccione. The season culminated in King Molasses being crowned the victor, solidifying his place in drag history.
