Authorities have released an individual previously held for questioning in connection with the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of TV personality Savannah Guthrie. This development comes as law enforcement continues its extensive search for Nancy, who went missing from her Tucson home.

Unraveling the Mystery: The Search for Nancy Guthrie

Initial Detention and Release of the Person of Interest

A man, who identified himself as Carlos, was taken into custody by law enforcement in Rio Rico, Arizona, following a traffic stop. He was considered a person of interest in the case of Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. However, after several hours of detention, Carlos was released in the early hours of Wednesday morning. His residence in Rio Rico, shared with his wife and mother-in-law, was subjected to a police search during this period.

Carlos's Account and Denial of Involvement

Upon his release, Carlos spoke to reporters, recounting the details of his detention. He stated that he was pulled over by officers, asked for his name, and subsequently taken in for questioning. He vehemently denied any knowledge of Nancy or Savannah Guthrie and maintained that he does not follow the news. Carlos expressed his hope that the authorities would identify the true perpetrator to clear his name.

Law Enforcement's Continued Efforts and Public Appeal

The Pima County Sheriff's Department has refrained from publicly naming the individual who was detained. As of now, no official suspect has been identified in Nancy Guthrie's disappearance. The FBI has joined the investigation, releasing security camera footage and images of a masked individual tampering with Nancy's Nest camera outside her home. This footage was captured on the evening of January 31, the last time Nancy was seen before being reported missing the following day.

Family's Desperate Plea for Nancy's Safe Return

Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have publicly appealed for help in locating their mother. In an emotional video statement, Savannah urged anyone with information, no matter how minor, to contact law enforcement. She described the family's situation as an "hour of desperation" and emphasized their need for public assistance.

Reward Offered for Information Leading to Resolution

Both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department are actively seeking information from the public. A reward of up to $50,000 has been offered for any details that could lead to Nancy's safe return or the arrest of those responsible for her disappearance. The authorities have provided a dedicated contact number for the FBI, urging anyone who knows anything to come forward.
