A new animated chapter of the beloved cartoon series, featuring the iconic crime-solving Great Dane, is set to transport audiences to Japan through an anime adaptation, exclusively on the Tubi streaming platform.

This innovative series, titled "Yokoso Scooby-Doo!," which translates to "Welcome Scooby-Doo!" in Japanese, is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Animation and Japan's OLM Studios. It marks a significant milestone as the first anime-style entry in the franchise's extensive history. Directed by Itsuro Kawasaki with Francisco Paredes as co-producer, the show promises to blend the classic Scooby-Doo charm with dynamic anime artistry. The narrative will follow Shaggy and Scooby-Doo, voiced by Frank Welker and Matthew Lillard, as they embark on an epic culinary expedition in Japan, only to unwittingly unleash a multitude of mythical creatures. To restore order and solve the ensuing chaos, they will team up with Scooby's uncle, Daisuke-Doo, alongside magical girl Yume and gadget expert Takumi, navigating a new world filled with monster chases and delightful pandemonium. Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation, expressed enthusiasm for this groundbreaking venture, highlighting the commitment to evolving the Scooby-Doo legacy through innovative storytelling.

Tubi's chief content officer, Adam Lewinson, emphasized the strategic importance of this new series in connecting with global fandoms and delivering engaging content that transcends generations. By immersing Scooby and Shaggy in a vibrant Japanese anime setting, the show aims to offer a fresh yet familiar take on the beloved characters, ensuring a blend of fun, chaos, and mystery that resonates with both long-time fans and new audiences. This initiative underscores Tubi's dedication to expanding its animation offerings with fan-centric narratives that are both surprising and authentically Tubi. "Yokoso Scooby-Doo!" is one of two upcoming projects for the more than five-decade-old franchise, with Netflix also producing a live-action prequel, "Scooby-Doo: Origins," which began filming in April and will explore the genesis of Mystery Inc.

This exciting new series embodies the spirit of exploration and cultural exchange, demonstrating how cherished narratives can evolve and adapt to new forms, bringing joy and adventure to a global audience. It reminds us that creativity knows no bounds and that collaboration across different artistic traditions can lead to truly unique and engaging experiences, fostering understanding and appreciation for diverse storytelling methods.
