Tom Burke and Eve Hewson Cast in Lenny Abrahamson's Upcoming Film, A24 Joins as Distributor

Renowned director Lenny Abrahamson, celebrated for his works such as “Room” and “Normal People,” is embarking on a new cinematic endeavor. This upcoming feature film, currently untitled, will explore the experiences of Dublin's Jewish community during the late 1970s. The production has secured the talents of Tom Burke and Eve Hewson in leading roles, alongside emerging actor Sean Meagher. This collaboration marks a continued partnership between Abrahamson and Element Pictures, with principal photography slated to begin on March 2 in the vibrant city of Dublin.
The creative team behind this highly anticipated film brings together several familiar faces from Abrahamson's previous successful projects, including “Normal People” and “Conversations With Friends.” Key crew members reuniting for this production include production designer Anna Rackard, director of photography Suzie Lavelle, editor Nathan Nugent, makeup designer Sonia Dolan, and composer Stephen Rennicks. Additionally, costume designer Eimer ní Mhaoldomhnaigh, known for her work on “The Banshees of Inisherin,” and hairstylist Orla Carroll, also from “The Banshees of Inisherin,” are joining the team, promising a visually rich and authentic portrayal of the period.
The project has garnered significant financial backing from Film4, High Frequency Entertainment, Screen Ireland, and RTÉ, underscoring its potential. Distribution rights have been secured, with A24 taking on the role of US distributor, and Elevation Pictures handling Canadian distribution. For international sales, FilmNation Entertainment will be spearheading efforts to bring the film to a global audience. Both Burke and Hewson are highly sought-after actors, with Burke recently appearing in Steven Soderbergh’s “Black Bag” and Hewson in John Carney’s “Flora and Son,” indicating a strong and compelling cast for Abrahamson's latest venture.
