Melvin Robert's Extensive Career: From Broadcast Journalist to Stage Performer
Robert's impressive career portfolio spans across acting, singing, producing, and hosting, including an Emmy Award-winning achievement. Before his current role at KTLA 5, he co-anchored Good Day LA and served as a senior correspondent and weekend host on Extra. He has also made special appearances as a correspondent on The Jennifer Hudson Show. Robert was instrumental in the launch of Spectrum News 1 SoCal, where he co-anchored Your Morning, and hosted the arts and culture program The SoCal Scene. His excellence in broadcast journalism was recognized with a "broadcast journalist of the year" award from the L.A. Press Club in 2022.

An alumnus of Loyola High School of Los Angeles and Loyola Marymount University, Robert has a rich history of performances on both screen and stage. On stage, he has captivated audiences in a variety of theatrical productions, including Rent, Miss Saigon, West Side Story, The Wizard of Oz, The Bayou Legend, Alex in Wonderland, and Karishma, demonstrating his wide-ranging artistic capabilities.
